State of Texas requires CPR for High School Graduation
In compliance with Texas HB 897, RECHS aims to ensure 11th grade students undergo CPR training before High School Graduation.
The American Heart Association has worked closely with Texas legislators to pass HB 897 which will require all high school students to complete a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training course before graduation. According to the American Heart Association, nearly 300,000 more people per year in Texas will know this lifesaving skill. The law requires that students learn compression-only CPR and not the mouth-to-mouth method. Nationwide, more than one million high school seniors every year will be equipped with the ability to perform bystander CPR thanks to this new law.

Showing off our School Spirit--Go Raiders!!!
This group of Raiders are true fans. They had to wake up at 5am just to get ready. All students were wearing paint on their faces with glitter. They were also wearing red/ black hats and t-shirts displaying their school pride! Best of all, most students also created signs with encouraging words for our Football Team :-)

Spirit WeekIt’s a tradition here at Rivera Early College High School to have a Spirit Week! It’s a way to kick off our exciting homecoming celebrations. Starting on Monday, each day of the week is themed. Students were able to show their school spirit by participating in a range of activities related to the theme of that particular day. Our week consisted of the following themes: Monday-Decade Day, Tuesday- Twin Day, Wednesday- Character Day, Thursday- Jersey Day, and Friday- was, of course, Spirit Day!
